Giving thanks.
This past week, we gave thanks over too much food. My son told me he is thankful for me, our dog, and our house. I am so thankful for so much this year, it's hard to know where to start.
I have a great job, a beautiful son, great friends and a beautiful (if slightly decrepit) house. My family loves me and people appreciate me for the work I do.
Thanksgiving Day was nice and warm. After an intimate early dinner...OK, early lunch (who knew a nine-pound turkey would roast so quickly) we headed out to the zoo to walk off some calories.
This little guy attempted to go home with me.

My son, feeding a bird from a popsicle stick.
Hard to see, but that's an emu to the right.
Guinea fowl pecks at the sequins on my shoes.
Changes.

It's about time I updated my blog!
Since the beginning of August, I started a new job at a great company, and I'm very excited about it.
More importantly, I embarked on a number of new projects around the house. The master bedroom has been completely repainted and the floor replaced. I replaced the flooring in my son's playroom, as well as in the upstairs hallway.
But first, a few pictures of the boy! Two of these photos were taken at the sculpture garden of the local art museum.
He recently lost a lot of front teeth. With any luck, he'll get replacements for Christmas.
